Levelling Up crAte: Total Control Over Your Collection and Setlists

I just finished 2 big feature updates, unfortunately, these missed the last update to the closed test, but will be in the next release. I am excited to share these features with you. Building crAte in public means I get to build the exact tools I actually need when I’m digging through my own records, and today’s update tackles two of the biggest hurdles: finding exactly what you need in your crate, and planning the perfect set.

Here is a breakdown of what I built.

1. The Digital Crate Gets Smart: Search, Sort, and Delete

When your physical collection starts growing, scrolling endlessly to find one specific white label just doesn’t cut it. I wanted the digital crate to feel as intuitive as flipping through the Kallax unit in my studio.

I’ve built in a live “fuzzy search” function. As you start typing an artist, track name, or genre into the search bar, the list instantly filters down to match. Even better, the “Total Physical Records” counter at the top of the screen dynamically updates in real-time to show you exactly how many records match your search.

Alongside the search, I’ve added quick-sort toggles. With one tap, you can order your entire collection by Artist (A-Z or Z-A) or Track Name (A-Z or Z-A).

Oh, and I added a delete button! You will now see a red trash can icon next to your records so you can easily remove anything that no longer belongs in your collection.

2. Gig Bag Track Numbering: Build Your Exact Setlist

This second feature is a big one for set prep. When I’m putting together a setlist, the running order of the tracks is important (even if on the night, it may change). You need to know exactly how the energy is going to flow and what you are mixing next.

Inside the Gig Bag detail screen, you now have total control over your setlist order. Right next to each record in your bag, there is a dedicated input box. Just tap it and type in the track number (1, 2, 3, etc.). This lets you visually build, order, and save your exact setlist sequence before you even pack the physical vinyl into your bag.

Both of these features are about taking the friction out of managing your vinyl and letting you focus on the music.
